Bobbi Bennett is a California-based photographer known for creating environments in the studio and on location.  Using live models, painted backgrounds, twigs, mud and various lighting techniques, she illustrates a thematic image. Her themes range from Native Americans, Angels, Superheroes, Goddess Icons and Abstract landscapes.

 

The "Abstract Landscape" series is her newest work. She captures an essence of the trees and waves using a camera without a viewfinder. Using traditional techniques of multiple exposures and over exposing the negative, the result is a very minimal depiction of the landscape.

 

The final image is reflected in a large format negative then mounted on board with epoxy resin.  This process allows the potent, almost muted color in the final image.

 

Bennett’s works are in private collections across the United States and included in the permanent collection of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Beverly West Residencies Beverly Hills, California and the Four Seasons in Maui, Hawaii.

 

Bennett is one of the esteemed recipients of the prestigious "International Exposure Award".  As part of this honor, her photograph “ Fallen Angels” was exhibited in the winner’s collection at the Louvre, Paris.
