The foundation of this work derived from a figurative form developed over several years. The Form as a horizontal shape becomes architectonic and Jungian, as in an exit/entrance/door/window. Two forms facing one another create tension in the space between them and in their opposing surfaces. The Greek crosses grew out this format, creating a nine square grid, and become painted, confined negative spaces. The CUT series represents a further deconstruction. This work creates a place for art, architecture and symbolism to coexist.
